The Australian Climate Service (ACS) Data Explorer is an open-access, ArcGIS Hub-based spatial data platform that provides authoritative national datasets on climate hazards and physical risks across Australia. Built on data from Australia's first National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA), it covers 10 priority hazards including extreme heat, bushfire weather, riverine flooding and coastal erosion. It integrates climate projections from global climate models across multiple warming scenarios (1.5°C, 2°C, 3°C). Data can be explored interactively via maps and charts, filtered by region, and downloaded in multiple formats or accessed via API.
For businesses undertaking TNFD-aligned assessments, the tool directly supports the 'Locate' phase of the LEAP approach by enabling identification of climate-sensitive locations across operations and supply chains. The NCRA identifies ecosystems as one of eight key systems under risk, with findings including that up to 70% of native plant species could face climate conditions outside their current range by 2050.
