This case study demonstrates ASFI’s work with financial institutions across superannuation, asset management, banking and insurance to integrate nature into financial decision making.
ASFI’s Valuing Natural Capital work program(Opens in a new tab/window) brought together stakeholders from finance, agriculture, science, and government to accelerate the integration of nature considerations into Australia’s financial system. A key part of this work was a partnership with Farming for the Future, which focuses on the agriculture sector, and translates research on natural capital indicators that are most relevant to on-farm productivity, profitability and resilience to assist decision making for financial institutions. This work sought to inform nature-related reporting and the development of sustainable finance products for agriculture customers, unlocking finance and investment for natural capital in productive landscapes.
